ACEN - Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing - http://acenursing.org/

 Accreditation -

Addendum - The catalog Addendum is incorporated within the online college catalog and provides a comprehensive list of all changes that occur to policies and programs of the college from the time the catalog is effective until the next catalog is published. See - Catalog Information and Addendum, Catalog Updates and Changes, Which Catalog to Use, Additions, Changes, Deletions, and Corrections to this Catalog, and Addendum

Admission - Admission can mean several things, admission to the college occurs when the student has completed the 'Application for Admission', and received notification of Admission from the Registrar's office.  Application for Admission to the college is commonly done online (although there is a paper process available.)  Admission to a program occurs when a student who is already admitted to the college has completed all prerequisite course and non-course requirements (background check, drug testing, insurance, etc.) to a specialized program, such as EMS, Early Childhood Education, Nursing, Radiologic Technology, or other programs that do not have 'open' admission. These specialized requirements can be found in the Degrees and Certificates section of the catalog.  see Degrees and Certificates

AQIP - Academic Quality Improvement Program see Accreditation

Assessment - Assessment generally means test of skills or knowledge.   At MCC Assessment is generally used as a term to refer to placement tests which admitted students take so academic advisors can gauge readiness for placement in courses and programs.

Catalog - The college catalog is a comprehensive list of college offerings, courses, programs, rules and regulations for the academic year.  It is often amended throughout the year as courses and programs are changed.  See Catalog Information & Addendum

Registration - Registration means the online or paper selection and confirmation of a seat in a course(s) for a specific term.  When a student registers for a course, they are immediate responsible for the cost of that course, through tuition and fees.  Even if a student does not attend the course, if registration occurs, the student has taken a 'space' and is responsible financially and will have a grade recorded to their academic record.
