Catalog Updates and Changes
This catalog is a "live" document and will be updated as changes occur. Additions, deletions and other changes may occur due to state, system, or college regulations, or accreditation requirements.
Which Catalog to Use
This catalog is effective fall semester 2016. First-time students at Morgan Community College and former MCC students who are returning after not having attended during the past 12 months should use this catalog. A continuing student is subject to the requirements of the catalog that was in effect when first registered at MCC or in some later catalog if the student changed his/her program of study at any time after that initial registration.

Admission - Admission can mean several things, admission to the college occurs when the student has completed the 'Application for Admission', and received notification of Admission from the Registrar's office. Application for Admission to the college is commonly done online (although there is a paper process available.) Admission to a program occurs when a student who is already admitted to the college has completed all prerequisite course and non-course requirements (background check, drug testing, insurance, etc.) to a specialized program, such as EMS, Early Childhood Education, Nursing, Radiologic Technology, or other programs that do not have 'open' admission. These specialized requirements can be found in the Degrees and Certificates section of the catalog. see Degrees and Certificates

Assessment - Assessment generally means test of skills or knowledge. At MCC Assessment is generally used as a term to refer to placement tests which admitted students take so academic advisors can gauge readiness for placement in courses and programs.
